Nature, well-being and eco subscription boxes for adults
To say it was difficult to narrow the choices down when it comes to subscription boxes for adults would be an understatement. We picked these boxes for their attention to the little details, gorgeous, sustainable packaging and imaginative contents.
Shorebox subscription box
Shorebox sends you four zero-waste products every month, to help you make little switches that add up to make a big impact. From cleaning products to bathroom essentials (and we’ve even spotted some chocolate!), you’ll soon be living that low-waste lifestyle without having to traipse through the internet looking for products to help.
Gardening and nature crafts box from It Won’t Cost The Earth
Each month the gardening & nature crafts box contains 4-5 different vegetable or herb and flower seeds, 3 nature-inspired crafts, one foraging activity and an informational face sheet on the changes we see that month in nature.
It Won’t Cost The Earth is a marketplace that is dedicated to selling products from businesses that are consciously-sourced, eco-friendly and produced fairly and thoughtfully.
The gardening and nature crafts box starts at £11.99 per month with a discount if you purchase multiple months.
Inner Canvas mindful craft subscription box
Inner Canvas founder Nadia puts together thoughtful and beautifully-presented craft subscription boxes designed to teach a new skill and practice mindfulness and you-time.
With every box, you get all the materials and instructions you need to create beautiful projects, as well as in-depth video tutorials and a therapist-approved journal to help track your crafting journey. Each box is suitable for complete beginners and seasoned crafters alike.
The Inner Canvas box is priced at £29.99 per month and previous boxes have included bookbinding, embroidery and wreath making.
LEO’s Box – plastic-free subscription box with a choice of products
LEO’s box or Loving Earth’s Oceans as it stands for, was founded by West London 17-year-old Lysander Bickham. That’s an impressive feat in itself. Add to this the fact that LEO’s Box is the youngest B Corp in the UK (and possibly the world) and we’ve got a very sustainable business on our hands!
The thing we love about LEO’s plastic-free, eco subscription boxes is that you’re offered a choice. Because there’s no point in having something zero-waste in your home if you’re not going to use it. You simply remove anything that you don’t want
LEO’s Box is currently £30 per month and they plant a tree and make a donation to Plastic Oceans for every order.
Grow Club from The Seed Pantry
Gardening is one of the most beneficial activities for mental health. The Seed Pantry’s Grow Club offers a monthly kit with everything you need to grow plants, flowers and food that are right for the time of year you receive the box.
Growing your own food is one of the most planet-friendly ways to eat, too, so you can feel happy that your gardening is helping the environment too.
The Grow Club subscription starts at £12.99 per month for small spaces, allotments and gardens.
Authentic House eco-products subscription boxes
Much like Leo’s Box and Shorebox above, the Authentic House subscription box provides a selection of small business provided eco-friendly products each month. You can also choose how many products you’d like to receive, which is a nice flexible touch.
Authentic House plant a tree for every new subscription, and subscribers get a 5% discount on the rest of their online shop. Handy for top-ups and buying more of your favourite product.
Authentic House subscription boxes start at £15.50 per month.
Nature, well-being and eco subscription boxes for children
Happier Every Chapter book subscription for children
Founded by Northampton-based sisters Kirsten and Aiyven, who are 13, and 11 and both published authors, the Happier Every Chapter subscription is for 8-14 year olds. Each month, they send two books (one of which is always a diverse read), as well as other treats, surprises and subscriber-only goodies. Kirsten and Aiyven are avid readers, and believe in the power of reading as a form of self-care and development. What an inspiration!
The Happier Ever Chapter subscription is £22.99 per month, with discounts for signing up for a 6 or 12 month subscription.
Earthwise subscription box for children
Earthwise’s mission is to reconnect young people with nature and their subscription boxes do just that. Aimed at 3-8 year olds, each box includes two types of seeds to grow (one edible because who doesn’t like eating something they’ve grown themselves?) along with natural crafts and activites than change with the seasons.
As a social enterprise, profits are reinvested to provide free boxes and events for disadvantaged families. They’re also as eco-friendly as they can possibly be, with compostable packaging, plastic-free items and instructions printed on recycled paper.
Earthwise Box subscriptions start at £11 per month.
Life Strong Box – emotional wellbeing subscription
Aimed at 5-10 year olds, the Life Strong Box teaches children the key skills and habits towards emotional intelligence, positive thinking and having happy relationships with fun, age-appropriate activities. As a caregiver, you get a certificate to present to the child on completion of the activities, as well as a supportive network if like-minded adults in their Facebook group.
